College life is full of opportunities — but it also comes with challenges. For students navigating substance use or recovery, finding support can make all the difference. That’s why Collegiate Recovery Week (CRW) is so important. From April 14–18, colleges across the region will spotlight resources and foster conversations about substance use and recovery.
Fake Is Real (FIR) is proud to stand alongside local campuses during this vital week. We’ve been on the ground distributing life-saving resources: handing out 287 boxes of Narcan at the 2023 Lehigh/Lafayette football game and 181 boxes in 2024, attending three resource fairs and a Substance Use Disorders event at Northampton Community College, and distributing 85 boxes of Narcan at Lafayette College’s 2023 Thanksgiving Holiday Awareness event. Plus, there’s a Narcan distribution box on Lafayette’s campus for students to access anytime.
During CRW, you can find FIR at:
Substance use can take a toll on students’ lives and futures. Studies show that regular substance use is linked to lower GPAs, fewer study hours, and increased risk of dropping out or facing unemployment after graduation. The risk for opioid use disorders often begins in young adulthood, making college years a crucial window for intervention. Yet, many students hesitate to seek help — that’s where accessible, judgment-free resources come in.
Our recovery centers include: A Clean Slate, Change on Main, Hope Center, Oasis Community Center and Palmer Recovery Center.
For more information and the full list of recovery centers, visit our recovery centers page and take the first step toward support.
Having Narcan on hand can save lives in the event of an opioid overdose. It’s a simple, safe, and effective way to reverse the effects of an overdose and give someone a second chance at recovery. You never know when you may need it or come into contact with someone who does.
You can order Narcan directly from our website here. For added convenience, you can even request contactless delivery — making it easier than ever to keep this life-saving medication on hand.
Call 610-829-HELP for immediate assistance, or walk into any local recovery center for support, resources, and a drug and alcohol assessment.
This Collegiate Recovery Week, let’s come together to build safer, healthier campuses. Join us at Moravian, Lafayette, Lehigh and NCC — and let’s keep the conversation going all year long.
